Conex Bänninger launches new metric version of its successful >B< MaxiPro ACR fittings range.

Conex Bänninger has unveiled a new metric version of its successful >B< MaxiPro copper press fittings range, which is developed specifically for air conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) applications.
The innovative >B< MaxiPro has proved highly popular with ACR engineers since it was launched in 2016 as a flame-free alternative to fittings that require brazing.

Until today >B< MaxiPro was available in inch sizes: from 1/4" through to 1 3/8". Now, following further technical development at the company’s hi-tech European manufacturing centres, installers will soon be able to purchase the fittings in metric sizes, from 6 to 28 mm.

Metric fittings are pressed using a mother jaw and inserts with convenient kits available to assist installers in transporting and storing the required range.

Frank Zielke, Business Unit Director for Central Europe markets, said: “With >B< MaxiPro proving so popular and establishing itself as a pipe jointing system of choice in markets around the globe, it was only a matter of time before we produced a metric version.

ACR engineers have been quick to feel the benefits of using >B< MaxiPro, with increased productivity, consistent, quicker installation times, and the elimination of any flame on-site.

It is an easy to complete mechanical joint, using the appropriate press tool, no hot works permit is required and there is no need for solder, adhesives or additional jointing materials. By producing a metric range, alongside the existing inch fittings, we are able to expand this market leading product into further regions and markets.”

>B< MaxiPro is designed and engineered for the higher pressures associated with ACR applications, up to 48 bar at 121°C (700 psi at 250°F). 

The fittings are suitable for use with hard, half hard or annealed copper tube conforming to EN 12735-1, EN 12735-2 or ASTM-B280.

>B< MaxiPro also has the benefit of a 3-point press, with one press either side of the bead and a third compressing the O-ring, which provides a secure, permanent, leak-free joint. Larger >B< MaxiPro fittings, from 15mm and above, feature a specially designed hook for additional security.

In tests, press fittings are around three times faster to install than those that require brazing. The new >B< MaxiPro metric range is now available to purchase through approved stockists. A variety of starter kits will also be available, comprising essential items an ACR engineer will need to complete an installation.
