The IBP Group are delighted that Tom Mason of the Customer Service team was presented in November with his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Tom, his parents and brother visited London on November 12th 2013 for the presentation of his Gold Award at St James's Palace. In attendance were other recipients of the award and the event was hosted by HRH, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh whom Tom met and chatted with at the ceremony. Tom was presented with his award by television personality Fern Britten.
The achievement of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award followed Tom's success in the Bronze and Silver stages. To achieve his Gold award Tom undertook 4 days of walking, a total of 50 miles in the challenging fells of the Lake District in the cold and rain, carrying all his kit and camping in the field. Tom is using his experience and knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme to the benefit of others and he is now an instructor supporting others in their pursuit of Gold.
